An inversion of the traditionally male-dominated action genre, "Boomerang" sees a team of authoritative women and their male getaway driver embroiled in a heist-gone wrong that takes them from a chase through the streets of downtown Toronto, to an attempt at escape in the outskirts of the city; a case study in the mantra of 'what goes around, comes around'.
BOOMERANG is the tenth - and final - installment in Toronto rock band Paint's "Video Album Project" for their sophomore LP "Where We Are Today" [2012].
A meticulous planner, and the leader of the heist team, #1 is used to getting her way at all times - so if something goes wrong because her plans aren't followed to the letter, someone is going to hear about it... and it might be the last thing they ever hear.
As enforcer for the heist team, #2 is often pegged as the strong silent type - who's to say what's going on in that head of hers.
The heist team's tech specialist, #3 is a master of digital data extraction and is responsible for covering the heist team's tracks in an increasingly more high-tech field.
The getaway driver of the heist team, #4 is a last-minute addition to the crew thanks to the team's weapons supplier Remi. #4 likes to keep things running as smoothly as possible, and doesn't particularly like guns.
Detective Slick Shepard is notoriously known for making - and breaking - the rules to get his next arrest. Shepard made his debut in Paint's "She Leaves".
Detective Kenzie Kickwell is a forensics analyst with the Toronto Police Services. Rumour has it that she and Slick Shepard are an item, though neither will substantiate that claim.
