This week marked the debut of The Indie Machine’s new promotional outreach video series on PPTV.

PPTV, formally known as Pizza Pizza Television, is – as can be surmised – the in-store television network for Pizza Pizza. David and I were first approached about PPTV back in April this year through a company called i-Connect, as one of their content managers was aware of the show and our live event series and felt we’d be a good fit with the network.

While the in-store network is already well-established, the recent re-branding to the truncated “PPTV” was done prior to undertaking a new mobile video channel initiative, as it is i-Connect’s hope that their mobile video version will take off as a source for great new news/entertainment/gossip/music/sports/general video content. We can’t say we’re adverse to this idea; in fact, we’d never check out theindiemachine.com on a mobile device prior to meeting with the i-Connect team – the thought just never occurred to us – though as it turns out, sessions and WIRED fit quite nicely on a nice large touch screen device *cough* iPhone *cough*.

Launching with videos from Toronto artists Cai.ro, Tiny & The Mountain, and Négar, we’ll be providing truncated versions of our videos (both sessions and WIRED – and potentially any future video series ideas) from here on out to PPTV, so with over 500,000 unique impressions per week across the GTA we’re hoping that it will provide a great source of new viewers/readers/listeners for The Indie Machine, as well as every band that signs on to the initiative.

Yes, we have to get signatures on wavers to do this… kinda like a parental consent form when we used to go on field trips in grade school… which may or may not have coincided with a stop-over at a Pizza Pizza.
